Early summer is a great time to pick up fun luau accessories (unlike November, which is when my daughter decided she had to have a Luau themed birthday party). You can find inexpensive leis, grass-skirts, table cloths and more at your local dollar store, and these items are very easy to convert into doll-sized outfits.
Today Charlotte (Journey Girl Dana) is getting ready for summer in this lovely luau ensemble. The skirt is a small child's sized Tinkerbell costume from a dress-up set my daughters have outgrown. The length was already quite short, so all I had to do was gather the waistline and secure it with a large rubber band. The headband was a bracelet from a cheap lei set, and the necklace and wristlets were from a Hawaiian doll I found at a thrift store.
