Rachel is excited to show off her new Christmas nutcracker. It was an ornament, but I cut off the hanging loop and touched up the top with black permanent marker. I found my nutcracker in a set of three on sale for $3 at Rite Aid. This little porcelain ballerina doll makes a great Clara or Sugarplum Fairy. It was only 50 cents at a yard sale, and it came with a stand. I also made a little Nutcracker book using a free printable from Doll Diaries. Rachel is dressed for playtime in a green dress from a thrifted Heidi Ott doll, paired with a plain white pinafore and green satin ribbon. I love the Heidi Ott clothing because it is very authentic and well made with real snaps instead of Velcro.

Thanks for mentioning where the dress is from! It's so gorgeous and I think I want 20 of them, lol! Also, ornaments can make cool add-ons for dolls. Usually after christmas you can pick up weird wacky ornaments for cheap, things like a chinese takeout box or a bird in a cage or just little dolls!
